thanks man. looking for pictures that show how you supported the turbo or braced the jpipe. |

so i made my own jpipe. i used a 6" radius on 2.25" pipe. found a 3/8" standard exhaust flange and a standard t3 turbo flange. made clearance for the pipe. made the first cut as a guess. worked out pretty well. tacked it onto the exhaust flange. you can see a black line on the uncut section of the pipe. that is where i eyed it up to make the second cut. (turned out to be to high. pointed the exhaust from the turbo straight at the manifold. wound up taking another three inches off after completley welding on the turbo flange.) this was my first attempt at making a jpipe. this was the finished piece before i had to cut off the turbo flange. when i was done it sat with both flanges about level. final pipe bolted up to the manifold. hardest part about making this was getting the pipe to fit the rectangular shape of the turbo flange. i flattened out the pipe a little just to fit in the flange. then i ran a couple of beads along the long sides of the rectangle. from there i used vise grips to stretch the pipe out to the other edges. if you make a small relief cut in the corners the can easily be welded shut and will make the fit alot easier. just takes time and patients. |
