Yes, A great day of racing! Beautiful weather and great company. We had 14 cars and if I am not mistaken Will Burns in his Cuda ran a fastest ever Slant 6 run of 9.62 @ 118. To put that into perspective, He ran something like a 10.11 @ 132 and got off of it at the end. On the 9.62, he ran 120 in the 1/8th and he had some issue that pushed out the valve cover and blew out a bunch of oil. This car will definitely be even faster than the 9.62 when it is all sorted out. But let's just say that Will had a great big smile on his face even though he broke. I did hand off the Broken Slant trophy to him also! More to come tomorrow! Rick |

Hats off to the Covalts once again for a wonderful bash! Who makes that amazing chicken barbeque? It is a great party, with some good cars and racing thrown in. It was amazing to see Will's Cuda be not only the fastest slant, but close to the fastest car on the track that day. There were a couple of cars with monster V-8s that were in the high 8's but most ran between 10.00 and 12.00 if they were built V-8 cars. I think Will is only a dry sump oiling system away from getting this car to stay together through eliminations. Congrats to Adam and Seymour for making it to the final. Thanks to Greg for all the photos. Sam |

Just Got home! Wow, what another beautiful day to go racing. Picked up 2 more cars and had 15 total for the first round. Our Rookie, Adam Droschak, won yesterday, and guess what! Our newest rookie, Justin Ledden won the race today with Dan Gravatt, getting the R/U in a borrowed Covalt truck. Congrats to everyone! And thanks to all for coming out and making it a great weekend. More to follow! Oh yeah I went all weekend and made 10 runs without a red-light. Also won couple rounds. Rick |

What a weekend. Perfectly run race event, perfect weather, fastest Slant 6 pass ever, rookies winning the races... What more can you ask for? Big thanks to Rick and Patti and the whole Covalt mob for putting on another great show. Congrats to Will on the fastest run, with room to improve! I was darn happy I finally got the 64 Dart in the 13s (13.95 @ 97.1). More tuning to do too... So great to hang with Slanted Family as always! Lou |
