Called the Mountain Park folks this afternoon. Shane was out of the office - left my number.

Stupid question ( I have lots of them) Do we need one extra round or two to make this up?

Thanks for doing that, Wayne. Stay on it. Assuming we have 9+ cars, we will need a full ladder and 4 rounds of eliminations to run an extra race.

Best,

Lou

If I understand correctly, Wayne is talking about having one more race for a total of 3 races that weekend? Four races would be really pushing it.

Lou

Yep, that was the question - sorry for not being a bit more clear. Should hear from Shane today - I will get the dates again to double check and see if a third race can be pulled off. Thanks, Lou.

Technically, we could try to do FOUR races for the weekend since both days of Crossville were rained out, but I'm not sure that's advisable. Is there something in the rules I might be missing here?

I'd say let's stick with trying for a total of 3 for now. I would say one Friday eve and two Sat day.

Input from others?

The folks at Clay City are super easy to work with. They will try to accomodate whatever you want, I'm sure.

I believe we ran the make up race last year on Saturday to allow the long haulers to be there. We went pretty late into the night, but we got it done.

Sunday they try to wrap things up and get people on the road, so that is usually a little tight.

You could try for one make-up Friday and another Saturday, but some of the long haulers or folks that have to work Friday like Gary Bruner would miss out.

The Championship thread is now updated with all points through Samoa, with the exception of the Crossville race.

If someone could get me the official roster of who sat and watched the rain I would appreciate it.

Another issue for Clay City is: Do we want to run the makeup race (or 2 races) as 1/8th mile, like Crossville? Clay City routinely runs some classes 1/4 and some classes 1/8. Just trying to make things more complicated, but some folks might have been intending to set 1/8th records, FYI.

I was at Crossville for Friday night only, and did put my tires on the track grounds. Alanna has a list of Crossville attendees, I believe.

Thanks again, Rob!!

If we just do one make up race at Clay City we might still be able to do the other at Bristol or Mason Dixon. I doubt if the track would mind letting us run 1/8 mi for the make up races. I have heard of a couple of people who might have intentions on setting a 1/8 mi record.

I think it would be fun to do a 1/8 mile race at one of the tracks too. There are still open 1/8 mile records that could be set at clay city or wherever we have the make up race.

I was in knoxville but sadly my tires never touched the crossville track. I've been to tennessee for quite a few races..... but I have never actually gotten to race there. One of these times I am gonna race when I make that trip!

I think Bristol has the Ford and Mopar events combined this year so it may a little more crowded than usual.

I think running a 1/8 mile for one of the races would be fine for the make up race.

Do you guys want me to check with Elmer to see if Mason Dixon is even a possibility for the other make-up race?

At least one 1/8th mile race sounds great at Clay City.
The opportunity to set a record sounds like a good idea.

So,... From your post I take it that Team Green may be planning a return trip to Clay City this year..?

I recommend we try for ONE makeup race at CC and one at another venue. I think it will be too crazy to do four races in one weekend... I vote for 1/8th mile for the makeup at CC.

Best,
Lou
