Very cool Rick!! Right out of the box and you're right on my heels with GodsRods Duster II! Guess Mike and I had better get over to the garage and pull the tarp off and get busy! |

Let's see? 13.8 sec. out of the box. With my deeper gears and some tuning, I may be able to hit 13.50 with this combo. Then I look at the D Gas record of 14.1 and think, if I added my heavy seats and carpet, and a second battery,(Eat a bunch of snicker bars) I would not need to add to much weight to be at 3200#. If each 100# is a tenth and I add 400#, I would still be at 13.9 sec. Wow!! Maybe I do have a shot at a record! Dennis, I may need that head after all! Rick |

Unfortunately, with little motors adding 100# may slow you down more than a tenth. It's here when you need it. It would be interesting to see how much difference it would make after you get yours all tuned up. |

Yes I would like to get a head next Fall, and have that be my only change and see what It does. That would be an interesting test, Although I know Mikes head would be set up for a bigger camRick |

We got cams too. This head is a street head. It was set up for .525" lift or less. |

Sounds good, Rick. Worth a shot! On most of our cars (range of power to wt ratio), about 60 lbs is worth 0.1 sec, so 300 lbs = 0.5 sec. Remember that PJ and Edd J in CA can probably run D/G pretty easily and are making more power now. Looking forward to M-D in 5 weeks! Lou |

Yeah, I know, I'm just talking! PJ Holds the ET record now. So if they added some HP they should be able to lower it some more. Mark has set the other Gas records so low that it will be a while before they are reset. Maybe a long while! Honestly I am super pleased to be where I am right out of the box. I really don't like the idea of adding 3 or 400# to my car anyway. I may go the other way ( lighter ) instead. Just nice to dream. Lifetime goal of 12.99 on motor looks doable in the next year or two. Of course Ryan wants me to drop a nitrous plate on it right now and shoot it with a 100 shot and then hold on!!! Yes, I can see Dennis smiling clear over in Chicagoland! Rick |

Hey Rick, Check my GodsRods Duster thread. I'm pretty sure I posted the flow rates for three of my four re-built heads. The Gerald Wright head (mildest) is on the Duster now. The Gary Bruner head (wildest) is on the new Challenger engine, but can come off. The Norm Foster and Andrew Howard (best) heads are sitting on a shelf still. Pick one and you can borrow it for a season. (No, I ain't offerin' this to anyone other than Rick! ) |

Wow, You guys are very generous, and I do really appreciate it. But I will graciously decline for now. 13's with my somewhat undersized valves isn't to shabby for now. Plus I don't want to pull the engine apart after one T & T Rob, you need to get all those heads on something and get them running!! Now, come fall I may be singing a different tune. We shall see! Thanks again! Rick |

My car ran flawlessly all weekend long. (Except for a bolt fell off my alternator) I did not even try to adjust the timing or change the jetting, which I know is slightly rich. I was too busy trying to make sure the race went smoothly. The car ran a best of 13.82 and the MPH hit 95. The car really feels good, and runs smooth. I really tempts me to let it wind up a bit more but I am trying to use resrtaint and shift at 6200. Once I drop in the 4.56 rear It may have to turn a little more RPM at the line. 4.56 gears will go in for the 1/8 mile at Farmington /Wilkesboro races next month. Then I will probably just leave them in and try running them on the 1/4 mile. Rick |
