Wouldn't it be cheaper to just run the tires half flat in the front? :D :D

Maybe call Fatman Fabrications and see if they will make you custom drop spindles in the 9" drum specs?? You never know...

You also might be able to get BBP spindle hubs to fit your rotors and brake kit? I guess that would not help the caliper mounting, which is likely specific to that 9" spindle.

OTOH, it's just money...

Yer killin me Smalls!

Lou, I looked at buying separate pieces to make my brakes work, but it would be cheaper to buy a whole kit.

Maybe my big project will be getting more gear in it. It liked 4.96s a lot, and I rarely run 1/4 anymore so I am going to try at least a 5.13 in it. IIRC I have a 5.38 ring and pinion laying around. Might built another pig.

On another note, I measured the valves in the head off the old motor in the car. They appear to be 1.66 and 1.44. Is that what the old MP valves were?

What size are the stems?

MP Valves were 1.70 / 1.44 I think

More progress today. My son in law and my cousin helped me out today and we have the engine out and on the stand.

Next up, reseal the oil pan, remove the dipstick tube and install a plug, drill out the reat block drain and tap it so I can run the water feed into it, and paint the motor.

Just a few other minor things and we should be golden.

Excellent! Nothing like some satisfying wrenching.

Thanks Lou!

Luke the sil is 28 and really wants to learn about playing with cars. He's a good kid and good help.

Cousin Chad recently moved closer to the shop and has been helping a lot. It's great having family around.

I still want to do a 1/4 mile drag race against a 225-powered airport tug... with me on a bike.

Lou

I will bike sprint anyone at a 1/4 mile slant 6 race too.

Sounds fun! My bike has 21 gears or so and I might not even use all of ' em.
