Adam came over this evening and re-mounted the gas pedal for me. WAAAAY better! I think I’ll actually be able to make a pass at full throttle without becoming a contortionist and getting leg cramps now!

I should have been working on the Challenger, but was out back getting something else done… :|

Fun times!!

Thanks Adam!!

I count at least 8 or 10 rockers, how did you do that? When I bought my first set from Rocker Arm Specialists I told them they couldn't be purple. Make Norm proud!

My main goal is to show Norm his car went to a good home by re-setting his record.

What color were your RAS rocker arms, Seymour? I’ve only seen blue and purple. There are 12. The angle of the photo is misleading.

I got the initial cold valve lash set and even put water in it…. I guess I’m getting close.

I’m about to dive into the hood scoop surgery… Wish me luck!

I spent the evening fiddling with the hood scoop. I’m more satisfied now. It ain’t great, but it’ll do.

I’ll spray bomb some white on it. It’ll be a 50/50 job fer sher.

Rob, do you even need a scoop? Is it for clearance or air for the engine?

Post subject:  Re: Rob's 1981 Dodge Challenger

It's a little of both, Matt. The top of the Flying Toilet sits just about 1" under where the bottom of the hood would be without a scoop.

The original Six Pak scoop was basically just open, allowing air under and through without being sealed at all.

You could see the hood trying to lift as you went down the track. I am hoping this design will offer better aerodynamics and slow the air down to feed the engine better.

I think the shape of that hood goes well with the Challenger's lines. Excellent choice!
Are more flames going back on?

I’m not sure about more flames. If Norm wants me to I sure will! :D
