Went to the shop today and made some more progress.

Pulled the converter out and took it to Teig Welding and Machine. I thought we were going to have to chuck it up on the mill to straighten it out, but Patrick got it done in about 3 minutes with a hand tap. Got it put back in the car.

Pulled the dipstick tube out of the motor and made a nice aluminum plug for the hole. Did a little other piddling and it was time to head home.

Best part is I got on and off the creeper without hurting myself, and also managed to climb into the engine compartment to seat the converter and got back out, also without hurting myself. Pretty happy with that.

Next weekend I will have Cousin Chad with. We should be able to get the motor ready to go back in.

It did. I've been real cautious about testing my new parts. I guess I'm doing ok.

This is my street motor out of the old red car. 11-1, lawn mower cam and everything.

If you can't gap me I'd put yours up for sale.

Just got my call, I return to work today.

Compared to the motor that was in it, it is. I'd tell you what was in the old one, but Stan might hurt himself over it.

Worked by myself for awhile today and made more progress. Did some drilling and tapping on the block for a modification that will make Stan scratch his head.

Pan is off, then ran out of time. Teresa worked today so I got home and had dinner ready for her when she got home.

Still moving forward.

I doubt that.
Have you looked under the Ruster hood?
That made me scratch my head.

Took Luke with this morning and had him help. Net result is the motor is ready to go back into the car.

1st birthday party for Reagan Saturday, that means race car stuff is Sunday.

Still moving forward.
