Rick I bought an bushed aluminum front case from passion.
But then a delay, then Carlisle, then a vacation.
So the Colt sits with 1/2 a transmission built.
Sad face here.

That's his nickname. His racing knowledge is incredible. If he tells you something, take it to the bank.
I remember watching him on TV, really enjoyed him.
He and Bob Frye, those guys were great.

I found out he was on the way to Carlisle after he left.

But I appreciate the offer!

Just back from Ohio helping Deb's sister out in Columbus.

Went to Daytona to the Air Force Museum.
Deb's Dad flew an F-82 in Korea.
Commonly called a Twin Mustang.
I wanted to show her the plane up close.
Her Dad's plane is not there, just the same type.
She was pretty excited.

After that we drove over to Laura Ohio to Brewers Performance.
In the middle of Ohio is the center of the Mopar A-833 world!
They must have a thousand 4 speed transmissions and parts for them.
Dan and his sister Lisa are super nice.
Got the tour of the place and picked up some parts.
Now I have all the parts to finish my transmission.

When we got home I put my 3500 under the lean-to on the garage.
It feels pretty good to have it out of the sun and weather.

John and I went to the AF museum a few years ago after Clay City rained out. That place is seriously amazing.

Good luck getting the Colt back together! Hope you get good results.

Thanks Dennis.
We could have spent a few days there.
Just not enough Helicopters for my tastes!

I was totally amazed at the planes from WWI. I thought how could anyone get in one of those pieces of junk and fly? But, that was 100 years ago and those planes were cutting edge stuff. If you were a pilot back then, you were a rock star!

Rick, the case I purchased from Dan Brewer was an aftermarket case.
He nor I know who cast it years ago.
The bushings were installed already.
It has additional bracing and the case where it attaches to the bellhousing is almost 1 inch thick.

Passon led me to believe he had cases at a local machine shop being bushed.

In my other aluminum transmission with the 2.66 face plated gear set, that case is bushed now.
I had Liberty do the case mod for the bushings.

Dan can do a lot in his shop, not sure if he is doing that mod.
I would call him if you need one done.

WWI was the Army Air Corp.
And you are right, lots of WWI planes.
They were rock stars, before there were rock stars!
The Fokker Tri-Plane was super cool, I thought.
I spent a half day at Kitty Hawk a few years ago.
Amazing that they got in the air that day.

Deb's Dad was a Rock Star for sure.
He hitchhiked from Alabama to Canada and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force before WWII.
Flew the Hump at some point.
Left Canada and joined the US Forces in time for Korea.
His unit scored the first kill of the Korean War.
Left the Air Force and was a Test Pilot for Hughes Aircraft.
Had a Pitts Special acrobatic airplane.
Started a company that designed parachutes for small airplanes.
Did the test flights and turned the engine off and deployed the chute.
He had a homebuilt Formula 1 racing plane.
And he died flying at an Air Race here in Texas.

Americas Greatest Generation.
