The half throttle comment was for slantzilla's benefit. He enjoys it when I make him laugh. My new lever from Speedway works and the carbs are working now with no slip. The good run Sunday really makes me understand a little better how much the chassis is holding up progress. I have to get some front end travel and tune the coil-overs to react with the limited amount of HP in my street engine. The current chassis setup is just like when it was a 9.90 Super Gas car in Washington State. I guess I could blow it, or bottle feed it, but that isn't the way I want to accomplish my goals. |

Agreed. Something is still amiss with this NA 225. My bet is still on cam timing or some kind of ignition fault, although carbs could still be it. What is the cranking compression (psi numbers) again? Lou |

The 8.9 converts to a 13.90 Quarter. Not great, not the worst. The Colt pulls all the way to the 1/8 mark. The rear gear/tire combo could be changed to use all the gears and RPM in the 1/8th. I am only using 1st thru 3rd now. I still want to run the 1/4 at some point. Removing the Dana for an 8 3/4 or ferd 9 is not an option. Anyway still more tinkering and modifying to come. The Cranking pressures were 170 to 185. |

That dana is heavy for the slant to spin I bet, but not going to make a 1-1.5 second difference. Good for Hemi's and RB Blocks however for obvious reasons! |

Could be, but these Webers pull like gangbusters from low rpm on when working right. Your cranking pressure is just about where mine is. What was your 60' on your good launch/run |

OK, cranking psi looks good. So weird... I still would suggest popping a Clifford 4V and known good 4bbl on it before changing anything major. Even with a Holley 500 2bbl, it oughtta run high 12s. You are getting much closer, though, Stan! It will be so so satisfying when you can stand on it for the whole 1/4 mile and feeling it pulling. Lou |

Stan, is the issue that the arm on the carbs is moving? Does your gas pedal have way more travel that the carbs need? |

Maybe safety wire a gropro inside the engine bay during a pass, then review the evidence. |

No more lever slipping, 6k on the 3rd to 4th shift. Best 60 foot was a 1.985 Engine is coming down. |

For a car that small and probably light it seems the 60' is slow. I was pretty close to that with 10.25 CR in a ~3400# '69 dart Please remind me what is your launch RPM, frst gear ratio, rear gear ratio, and rear tire ΓΈ? Greg |

I agree it's slow. can we put that to rest? Launch at 3-4 thousand, slipping the clutch else it bogs, 3.09, 1st, 4.88 rear gear, 29.5 X 12 rear tire. I reach the 1/8 mile stripe at the top of 3rd gear. |
