Also will the clear plastic fuel filter TECH out there? I have heard some discussion that it had to be a metal one???
I carry the metal one in the "race box" and have had to change-out the clear plastic fuel filter at a couple of events....

I tend to use the clear plastic fuel filters when starting new engines, just so I can see what is happening with the fuel supply. It makes it easy to see if you have water, rust or.... no fuel.

The head gasket is one of the Permaseal, big bore gaskets from Austrilia.
There has been some talk about doing a group buy to get a few more shipped to the US. I think Lou did the last group buy on these.

I set the top ring gap at .022 and the second at .016 so we are pretty close in our thinking. I am running these forged piston on the loose side @ .004 clearance.

Doc, have you use these balancers on slants before? They seem to be of good reputation, but this is the first I have seen them. If they can tame a Hog that speaks a lot for them.

In the pics above, the filter element for a top has been proven on many apps to casue a loose of power. Not saying it will but I would test with & without it. It seems they disrupt the airflow to the carb in such a way to cause problems on some.

Un hooked summit msd box, dropped in points dist,5 stabs later,it re fired,I will add ballast rersistor tommorow, and get timeing closer.
New radiator has small leak, draining oil,and changeing filter, dip stick clicking and walking up the tube, gotta change the angle of the dangle, open headers do sound bad ass,did put pep boys angle down ,temp pipes on headers to direct exhaust away from firewall, closer,,,butt a long way away,,,
I gotta get my other rear end in my Signet that I will be driveing to Vegas,On the air filter top, remember the top of my hood is open, dont know if that will help or hurt but looks bitchen, also i will run 1 headlite, the other one is ducted to eng compartment,if you look at pics you will see the hole.

MadMax/6, I dont know how a open hood will effect the air cleaner. You just might want to try it at the track with the filtered top and with a regulor top. I agree they do look real good dont they. But test I have seen on dyno's has shown the filtered tops to cost power, it seems to be causing turbulance in the carb throat that causes the problem. I dont know if it will cause you any problems but thought I would meantion it, then when your at the track you can try both ways and see what happens. If it doesnt hurt anything your good. All you can do is try these things sometimes, what hurts one setup may help the other, you never know without trying.

Thank you for mentioning it,would hate to run 14.01 and not be able to do better, put a solid lid on it and break 14,something that simple would have been overlooked by me.Thanks again, this list is GREAT,mark
