Sorry i haven't looked through the threads lately, New clutch is in and drives really nice doesn't sqeak like the old metal disc clutch did uh pedal is a ton easier to push more like i would think a clutch should be. It engages smooth except theres a 1 inch or so of travel in the pedal that kinda trys to pop into engagement when letting the clutch off the floor i suppose thats just how the clutch wants to engage because my old clutch was really hard to push to and from the floor with no change in stiffness all the way down or all the way up the travel of the pedal.
I actaully stiffened the spring down on the clutch fork to make the pedal a little harder to push since i didn't like how soft it was making it hard to release the pedal real easy instead of barely lifting my foot and the clutch just jumping to engage mode.

Keep us updated on this clutch. It will be nice to know how it holds up after some high power shifting. Are you running any slicks at the track? I really do hope it works out for you.

Also if you could list part numbers and what they are for, that would be good info to have.

Good so far i actually just pulled the motor and trans and had a chance to look at it seems like it did when i bought it couple months back and right before i took the ol duster apart again I did rip on it a bit.

Popped the clutch in first grabbed hard but with a bit of tire squeel then boost hit immediately as well as shift light and smoked tires till i shifted to second which skirped then smoked the tires until about 45mph then shift at 5800rpm into 3rd then shifted 5500rpm into 4th then let out after shift.
sooo 5500rpm in 3rd puts me about 130mph give or take :)

The clutch seemed to enjoy it

It may come in handy to know what the parts are from. Others may want to try them, plus if you need a replacement you will need the info too.
Thanks,

Rick

I cross examined him as well and he wouldn't bite, we can order it under the number off 1974 Kev's box (SD###-#).

He did comment it wasn't a Fiero disc or from a Ford....

I randomly found my old post about my current clutch while searching the site so I figured I would put some feedback here.
My clutch has finally showed signs of unhappiness lol.

After a TNT a couple weeks ago noticed the clutch slipped twice in 4th gear on the way home leaning into it on the highway.
Finally talked to Jeremy from Spec today he seems to think its just from wear since my car is daily driven rough and gets some track time for the last 3 years. The duster still drives fine and didn't slip the couple times i've floored it since then but I have been very easy on it lately specially in 4th gear zero WOT shananigans.

The problem: I live in Tallahassee until december so chances are I won't be able to undertake any major projects such as switching to v8 bells and goodies like that and I would really like a new flywheel.

So I think i've narrowed things down to a couple options unless anyone has other advice

1.)First cheaper option, try this clutch again since it seemed to withstand 3 years of constant abuse and 2 of those years with drag radials. Spec said 500bucks but I would have to provide a sfi flywheel if i can find one that will work and redrill the crank hole so they can build a new clutch on it. Then cross fingers it does well and holds more boost soon.

2.) Second Mcleod will build a twin disk setup and reverse engineer an SFI flywheel for me if I send my fly/clutch setup to them but that puts my car down for at least 2 or 3 weeks which isn't horrible I usually walk to campus anyway and could find a ride to work. The huge pro is Mcleod said this bad boy will hold some monster power I think the kevlar disk would be 700 or 800 ft lbs i'd have to find my notes I know he said the centered iron twin disk would holy over 800 which I don't want another centered iron disk lol. Con 2 Grand!

P.S. I still have been able to get a hold of clutch net Lou but I will try them again monday I've just got back from the Bahamas!
