Ryan Vs Seymor: Seymor red lit, sending Ryan on to the next round. BUT,Ryan Ran slow and engine has started knocking (they don't think its a rod). He's tearing it down now but it don't look good.

John Vs. Gary: John tried his hardest to beat Gary. Just got a little antsy and Red lit and broke out. Gary took then win but his car slowed way down.

Rodney Vs Chris (This is Chris' first race with us, I don't think he even knew we were going to be here) I hate that I paired Rodney against him, not a very nice thing to do to a visitor, but that's was the luck of the draw. He gave Rodney a hard run. He ran just 7/100 off his dial which aint to bad for a bone stock four door 62 Valient, 170ci. But he couldn't beat Rodney.

Lucky for Lukus he had the bye 'cuase he red lit and broke out and.... but he's on to the next round.

Meril vs. Rusty Rusty was taking a nap on the tree, but Meril was a bit to trigger happy and red light. They had a friendly bet going on so not only did Rusty take the win, but he also took Meril's Quarter.

So here's our new pair up

Lukus vs. Ryan
Rusty vs. Gary
Rodney with the Bye

On a side note it looks like Team Green has set a new record. BUT more on that once we verify with Seymour.

Rodney had the by run. His car hooked nice and hard leaving the line but has slowed down some.

Lukus Vs Ryan: Ryan was unable to make the field advancing Lukus on to the Semifinals to face Rodney. Lukus also is slowing down.

Rusty Vs Gary: Gary's motor almost died when he hit it on the starting line. Giving Rusty an easy advance to the Semifinals and a Bi.

Rusty with the bye run advances to the finals.

Lukus Vs Rodney: Both Rodney and Lukus broke out, but Rodney broke out the most running a 13.12 on a 13.18 dial in vs Lukus 12.86 on a 87.

So we'll see Lukus vs Rusty in the finals.

Stay tuned.

Well we made it back to knoxville..... Sadly the last 80 miles had to be done on a roll back. Josh had AAA so it was actually a free trip for us. The engine started knocking very badly and losing power so we parked it before it decided to throw a piston out on the highway. One major question is did I do enough to win the busted slant award today? I am really looking forward to "winning" that award  and I don't really want to go through this again.

Looks like I will need a complete bottom end before this truck makes it back to Pa. Time to start brain storming and searching I guess. I will probably be calling some of you soon to discuss options.

Good luck with the races Sunday. Hopefully you all can get both races in. Sorry I couldnt be there.

Big thanks to John (dad truck) for giving me a ride to get parts for the truck. I couldn't find you before I left but I appreciated the help.

Keep us posted on the race results.

Sorry I didn't post the final round last night, but I couldn't get connected last night.

Rusty Vs. Lukus: Lukus was determined to take Rusty out, but jumped too soon and red lit giving Rusty the win.

So the run down of points earned Saturday

Rusty (Team Green)45 pts + 20pts for the record = 65pts
Lukus Bruner 35 pts
Rodney Hargis 25 pts
Ryan Covalt 15 pts
Gary Bruner 15pts
Chris (new guy) 5pts
Seymor 5pts
Meril Bruner 5pts
John (Dad's Truck) 5pts

Also want to apologize for misspelling any names or completely getting your name wrong, or not knowing your last name, or ....

Congrats Mark and Rusty for the Saturday win and Record. Was it hard to get Meril to pay up? :) Ryan I'm sorry to hear about your engine problems. If I make it to Mason-Dixon I will make you the proud owner of the Busted Slant trophy. If not I will mail it. I hope to not be honored with it again.

Ron

Wow, great reporting. Thanks, Alanna!

BIG congrats to Rusty and Lukus. Lots of points accumulated on this weekend! Maybe Team Green will make a long tow to Mason-Dixon to have a shot at the championship??? OK, that's asking a lot...

Sorry to hear about the truck motor, Ryan. Glad you made it to a safe place. Wish I had a spare motor for ya... Let me know if you need a spot to stop on the way back North.

Warm wishes to all the Slanters,

Lou
