Are you interested in Slant 6 racing and hanging out with other Slant 6 racers? That’s what it’s about even if you’re not sold on 1/8 mile. The more I Run 1/8 mile, the more I don’t mind it. It’s easier on equipment, and lets the events go faster. Plus our 1/8 mile racers deserve a chance to set records. So come on out and beat us if you can. :D :D

Shame there aren't more slant 1/4 mile events
The Friday night race is 1/4 mile.

I personally prefer 1/8 mile, but will run the 1/4 mile race too.

It's not a problem to run 1/4 and 1/8 mile. Both are fun.

Hey Rick! That makes SIX! Now you gotta come!

I updated the Roll Call on the first page.

I’ve always made it a point to offer both 1/8 and 1/4 mile options at Clay City for record setting opportunities. If the general consensus of those ATTENDING is to only run 1/8 mile, we can do two 1/8 mile races.

For those wishing to go for a 1/4 mile record, post here. There is test & tune Friday night for that and I can probably coordinate for something Saturday if I know ahead of time.

I would prefer one of each, but will happily do 1/8 mile on both it that is what everyone else wants.

No records available to me until I find 30 more horsepower! :D :D

If I can make it, 1/8 or 1/4 is OK by me. Not going to set any records (but if the car runs good enough) just want to support the race, and visit with my slanted friends.

I just made my reservations for Abners Motel in Stanton. Still need to get the truck running and arrange for Peg's care, but trying.

Is that the one about 15 miles from the track Charlie? If it was not going to be 95 degrees I'd probably just stay at the track. Yeah , August, Kentucky, probably 95 degrees! :D :D But who knows!

It is one exit east of the track, on Mountain Parkway. I didn't think it was as far as 15 miles. I just got a single room, for Thur, FRI, SAT nite.

Thanks Charlie, It is only a couple miles. My search kept taking to a place called Lil Abner's Motel about 15 miles East.

Hey guys, I just thought I would officially let you know I won't be coming to this one. I know Rick listed me as a maybe and didn't want to make you wonder since I finally decided. I hope you all have a great time and I'll miss being there with everyone. Wish I could help keep the car count up. Have fun!
