Took the Dart to 41 tonight. Randy was driving because I won't fit in the car yet. It needs to go to Teig Chassis and Welding to get the seat moved back and down.

Remember, both of us are in our 60s and have never had anything this fast before. I had him drive around the pits for awhile to get acquainted with the car. Tech guy loved it and sent us right through.

Got 1 pass in. Car scared the bejeesus out of Randy on the burnout because it revved up so fast. Staged it up and footbraked it. Car spun, hooked, picked the front wheels up about 6" and he was gone. It ran nice and straight which was a big concern for me. Unfortunately, it got hot and he shut it off around the 500' mark. It still went 14.0@85. I think we probably had it airlocked when we drained the antifreeze out and replaced it with distilled water. The Barry Grant fuel pump did what Barry Grant fuel pumps do and started leaking too.

We'll get it figgered out and be back out soon. I am going Sunday to help my buddy Keith get ready for the NHRA Bracket Finals at Norwalk, and I just might drag the Valiant out of hibernation. :mrgreen:

Takes some video! I'd like to see it!

With our series being about done, I have thought of what a 360/408 with about 450 HP would do in my lightweight car? Then I think about it and say ,nah. I think I'd rather have a slant 6 that runs 12.70 than a 408 that runs low 11's. Although I do have a 92 magnum engine sitting on the floor of my garage! There are possibilities :D :D
