A consistent car you can trust is more important than the light. Unless you run with hardcore headcutters .03/.05 will win a lot of rounds.

Ok Guys, thanks! Then I guess I had a decent weekend. I will say that running a car that ran really nice all weekend was nice. I ran on my 2 barrel all weekend with the exception of the 1st round on Saturday. I hooked up the 4 barrel and immediately dropped 2 tenths in the 1/8! Not wanting to mess with secondary jetting I disconnected them and my ET went right back to where it was before. With the 2 barrel it was dead on 12.5 AFR. with the 4 barrel it went to 13.5-14 AFR.

I picked up the new engine for my Valiant on Thursday evening. It is ready to "accessorize" and I have all the parts except the head studs which are on order. I went ahead and gave it its coat of paint and put it in a big bag to keep all the dirt out while it waits to be installed.

Here are the some of the Specifics.

3.485 Bore with Weisco / K1's
Intake notches on Pistons were moved @ .040 (If memory serves correctly)
Tops of pistons were cut .020 to get to zero deck
Mikes cylinder head was cut to @48CC to get to 11.5 CR
1.76 & 1.46 Valves, Valve clearance was .212 intake and .245 Exhaust
Camshaft- Oregon regrind .566 / 257 @50 / Installed at 99 degrees
Dutra reworked oil pump
Romac Balancer & Rollmaster Timing chain
It will get one of Mikes windage trays and a scraper
I plan to modify the pan to hold a little more oil and install some baffles

You gonna put a real carburetor on this one or continue with the easy to tune and run on half Edelweber?

Looks nice Rick. :D

I might run 8 single barrels on this one. That way at any one time 2 can be messed up and 6 will still be working properly!

Oh yeah I forgot to tell everyone the thinnest spot on any of the cylinders was .225" !!  Go figure!

I could some day way down the road bore this to 3.550 and still have a .150 cylinder wall.
