OK Cam Guru's!

Should I be looking at a 270, 280 or a hybrid for the stroker I'm building?

I'm getting in way past my comfort level here. It's good for me! :D

I made the call and left a message for Tom, so should get a ring back Monday or Tuesday..

CJ

4.440" Stroker, 3.485" Bore
Stock Rods so far as I know...
Offy 4bbl/New Casting DD's
Perhaps a tad more carb this time...

I talked to tom last Thursday and ordered a cam, lifters, springs and retainers. After chatting for a while I went with the 254 cam (RV10 I think he said) and heavy duty single springs.

Its great that everyone stepped up and a big thankyou to New Lancer Man for setting this up :)

Oh, he said someone had called that day and didnt leave a return number, so if you called last Thursday and havnt heard back - that could be you !

cheers
ricki

Thanks for the reminder Ed. The blanks should have hit erson about now, so after the cams that have been ordered are finished, new orders will be made. Doug has also created a few dual-profile extended intake cams as well.

Actually, Tom and I "reviewed" 6 different profile combinations.
This cam grind is pretty good for a stock to near stock compression ratio Slant Six with 350 or less cfm of carb.
We also came-up with a cam grind that would be great for a stock engine build-up, it is a lot like the 244 degree MP cam.

Doug, what are the PNs for those two cams so folks can order them? I saw E470000 on that one, what about the MP244 clone?

Thanks

MJ

Doug, this looks like what I have been waiting for. Is this a profile you have run or very close to one you have run? I am looking at running a blueprinted 9-1 ratio with 1.70" and 1.44" valve ported head. CFM will be right around 312. ( a 625 AFB modified to run one primary and one secondary, a progressive two barrel). This is a 225. I can guess at the rpm range for this cam, but I am sure you know what it is. Can you give me an idea of the power band? Thanks for sharing your time and effort. If this looks like a finished effort so far I will go ahead and order one. Just for background I would be interested in the specs on the new 244 grind as well. Work and moving has really taken up my time lately, but in a couple of months I will have some time to really get going on this.

This profile is very close to one I have run and built into a number of different engines. It is best discribed as the max cam you would want to use for a stock to mild performance street build-up.
Search the message board for "Author" use: 63Dart
I used this cam in an engine I built for his car. He really likes it.

I need to get Erson to grind the combo we have worked-out on paper, as soon as they have one made, I will test it to be sure they followed instructions.

I will also post the "244 clone" as soon as I can, I left all the paperwork at the office.
