I thought it was in this thread, but apparently not. I’ll try to find it. Very ingenious, super light weight and structurally superior approach!

This ‘61 has a handful of little pieces and parts for Toadracer and spares for my other ‘61 Valiant hardtop. This one is really far gone rust wise. There isn’t a single body panel worth saving. Rust through from top to bottom. Fun road trip though. Hopefully Joe and I can go back.

See if this works... It didn't bring the photo over, You need to see the photo... It's in the "What did you get done..." thread on page 369.

Besides, didn't I say that I had it figured out?
You just have to trust me 8)

It's a little-known fact that Vernors is the strongest ginger ale available.
The ginger content reacts with the aluminum container and produces an aleyuminimum coating which greatly enhances the tensile strength of the container without increasing its thickness or weight.
If you can find a way to cut patches out of the resulting material (ask me how many pairs of snips I ruined on this project) and attach them to the appropriate place on the control arm, you will be 'all set' as far as strength is concerned with no significant weight added nor ground clearance lost.
Once the RTV cures, these will be available for testing under endurance road racing conditions.

You're welcome.

Yup. It happened. Saw the pics documenting it right there on page 369. Took notes too.

Here, scrape off this undercoating while sitting on the floor in this dark, crowded refrigerator of a garage...
Colin Chapman stopped by and said: "What in the name of stale biscuits are you doing?"

I didn't weigh the resulting piles, but Ondayko would be proud.
Speaking of whom, I need to have a word with him for putting ideas in Rob's head.

When I can use my arms again (I'm typing this with my nose), I'm gonna slap him with a haggis
A good team captain listens to his team members, so here ya go Joe!

I got the keys today. 60X40 with a 60X32 carport off the back on a nice level .46 acres. 220 and airlines throughout. Ceilings high enough for a couple lifts. Zoned commercial.
