"White Punk On Nitro" has done more things in the automotive/Mopar world than pretty much any of us have even thought about. I know Tony Defeo. Not well. I have sold him parts, I have bought parts off of him. He is a strange bird for sure. I just saw his part Deux of the slant today. My ear caught some bad, or incorrect info in video #1. I'm not sure what ignition system "caused" the problem on the Torqstorm motor. I was talking to the owner at the show, and with Tony at the same time a couple of years ago. I could have sworn it had the 198 rods in it. Maybe not! I do remember Tony telling me the motor had a static compression ratio of 10:1 before the supercharger. I questioned him about detonation. Claimed no problems. I guess there is a thread or on the TS motor over at FABO. I have gotten out of the car hobby for quite a while. Got into the gun hobby with the whacky political climate. Moparts has gone to crap, I haven't done much over there. Lots of the original members are dead and gone. To heavy handed with the moderators on some stuff even outright sensorship. I've seen a lot of stupid slant and other info over there by the newbies. Tony did a lot of street racing in the NE around NYC back in the day. He wrote for PHR, Mopar Performance mag, and several others. He used to run an altered fuel car. He is quite the nut. He's a tight wad when he's buying parts. I'm not sure he is deserving of all the name calling that is being dumped on him on this forum. Tony is a hustling kind of guy. An endless entrepreneur for sure. Chain smoking Bugler kind of guy. I always thought he was older than me. I'll be 62 in a few weeks. Guess I need to re-listen to the blower motor destruction thing again. |
