So are we having Mokan, Mason Dixon and Clay City or is Knoxville still in the thought process for later in the year?

Hi Rick,

My understanding is that Rob was going to contact Clay City. I could also call if Rob does not wish to do it. I know he is busy with moving.

I am also trying to contact Knoxville about a race in Sept or Oct, based on Gill Welding's poll and desires (and offering prizes for that one). I talked with Barbara and Courtney and got the correct number and I have left the guy a message.

Thanks,
Lou

Gill Welding posted a flyer on FB this morning with a Knoxville race on it.

My vacation time for Mokan has been approved.

I approved this. I hope this is OK with everyone. We should still have a Clay City race, IMHO, but Gill did not want to put it on their flyer because they are not doing prizes for that one. I am getting excited about drag racing this year, BTW...

Lou

Me too. I just hope I can have some vehicles ready to go (truck and race car) and can make arrangements for my wife.

Super!

I heard back from Knoxville and he says Sept 20-21 should work. Anyone have a problem with this date? I will ask for races on Fri eve and Saturday, or I might convince him to do 2 races on Saturday if people prefer that. I will put this in a separate thread too.

Thanks and please let me know,
Lou

1. Have one race on Friday during the Test-N-Tune event called "Friday Fun Drags". The track can handle the Slant Six group with dial-ins and whatnot. Our choice of 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile. Then, on Saturday, run the other race during the Mopars Invade event. Again, our choice of 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile.

2. Run two full races on Saturday, 1/4 mile, and 1/8 mile.

The track is good with either way.
My personal preference will be 1 Friday night and 1 Saturday. I will probably be double classing on Saturday too.

I would vote for 1/8th mile one race and 1/4 the other.

Lou Knoxville on that date may be Ok, but may not. My wife has a 60th birthday, My grandson's birthday and Ryan and Whitneys 20th anniversary are all that week. I will do some checking and let you know as soon as I can. Although if that works for everyone else go for it!

Ryan and Whitney have been married 20 years? I remember seeing them as barely out of high school.

I feel old.

Rick…..

NEVER NEVER EVER reveal your wife’s age in public… EVER!

Ima tell Patti!

I apologize for not being more on the ball, having offered to coordinate the Clay City race.
I’ve been told I’d be more busy in retirement than before and that is most certainly true!

I just reached out to Clay City and will post here when I hear back.

I was planning to make Knoxville, but I wanted to do Clay City as well. I already have the Arkansas Drag Racers Reunion Nostalgia Race on September 21st at Centerville Dragway. I guess I'll have to decide between the two if that date sticks.
