Does anybody know the specs on the carb that came with a '76 feather duster? I think it is a holley 1945. Did the feather duster have special jet sizes or anything like that? I have all of the numbers off of the carb, but I can't find anything online with these numbers. They are stamped as follows: 6R 5147B D 4006643 7562 3245 Thanks for the help. |

It's a Holley 1945, I pulled one of my Feather Duster Carbs apart and the jet was a 611(lean close limit '61'), other 1945's indicated for the same year could be had with '63' in them. -D.Idiot |

It was indeed a small-bore/small-venturi Holley 1945, jetted lean. It also had Chrysler's first idle speed control device, a vacuum-operated AIS motor. |

Actually the 1974 Holley 1945's came with #58's (way too lean), I swapped in a 61 into my '74s carb and kept my mileage and it had much better passing manners.... The AIS....what a tuning nightmare, only one of my two feather dusters came with one (both had OEM carbs, the Dec.7 build date had none, and the March 30th build date had one)....It worked OK when it was new, but 30 years later.... -D.Idiot |
