Post subject:  dumb valve question...

I'm about to order up some stainless valves for my 225, and I just started wondering...is 1.70/1.44 the stock valve sizes? I've read it some where befor but can't find it. I havn't miked my stock valves or anything...I just wanna make sure I'm not ordering an inlarged valve for my head. Thanks guys.

If you want over sized , some people use Ford valves.

Yes, they "drop right in", just as soon as the machinist is done with them.

What has to be done to them to fit? Thanks, Kyle.

There are oversize "drop-in" valves for the SL6 from SRC and Egge machine. (search the messages)
These are 1.70 and 1.44, in fact, I think it was SRC who was making them for Mopar way back when these were listed in the Performance cataloge.

SI is who I was gonna order the valves from. I'm glad I posted asking about the sized befor I ordered! Does anyone know if they carry (or anyone else that does) a stock size stainless valve? My 225 is out of a 68 Coronet if that matters any....

Post subject:  Same page...

The same page that lists the 1.70/1.44's also list the 'stock' size valves of the same type. I e-mailed them a while back and the 1.70/1.44's they said use the same retaining locks as the stock valves and have the same stem size as the OEM valves....
