Looking for a 5 speed to fit my '78 B-100 van with a slant six/ 3 speed.
Any infor on what will fit would be helpful. This poor camper-van just doesn't have enough gears going down the road!

There is no "bolt in" 5 spd to fit a slant 6. However, if you are ingenious and patient you can make one fit and work well. I am neither ingenious or patient yet managed to put a Ford 5 spd in my Valiant in 2 days for $200. Others on this site have done the 5spd thing with the same delightful results you would expect...do a search.

I used an A535 out of an 89 Dakota in my 170 65 Valiant. I don't know how strong it is, but I like the ratio spread; it's a huge improvement over the 3-spd. Adapting it wasn't too hard using an overdrive bellhousing and all factory stuff.
