LOKAR is a good source of kickdown replace... it works with one end that bolts a support bracket to the drivers side tailhousing of the tranny, then a steel cable with a lever bolted on the kickdown lever on the tranny... depending on your tranny's make year it would be kinda hard to get the thing in, but you'll do it (eventually  ) then the other end has another bracket to bolt "godhelpyoufindwhere" and the cable has a 2 part linkage to the throttle lever. (One bolt and a plastic "youbetterprayforthatthingaintbreak" thing for (sort of) easy removing that when carb removal needed. I think that if you're a handyman you can easily copy one... I have one ying around, maybe I post some pix tomorrow or so.

I have one on my truck.

It works opposite the linkage.
Carb pulls the cable and the cable pulls the kickdown lever on the trans from the rear.

Excellent product. Mopar should have implemented these 40 years ago.

Here it is hooked up to a Holley 4bbl on my truck:

The accelerator cable is on the bottom, the kickdown cable is on top (they pull opposite directions)
