Looks like the 66 is probably going to that big showroom in the sky. Had an elderly tourist form out of state stuff me, and it, into a jersey barrier this evening. I'm sure insurance will total it. Needs bumper, fender, door, and quarter on the drivers side.

On a side note, my chassis seems to be ok, though the back is screaming bloody murder. Goin ta see the doc in the morning.

Ouch, hope you have a speedy recovery.

Buy it back from the insurance if you can, usually you can just give them a small amount for the totaled car.

That sucks! I hope you are okay. This wasn't the white one with the beefed up suspension and tires was it? :( I agree with Pierre, buy the car back and strip it of all the good parts.

Good thing that you are OK

FYI: Don't ever take the first offer on a "total" by the insurance people, they "lowball" as a standard practace. Hold-out, time is on your side, thay want to close-claims fast for as low as possible, the longer you wait, the more you will get.
Go find every receipt you can for work and parts on the car.
When my 63 Dart wagon got totalled the insurance co. came-in with a $500.00 initial offer, 3 months later they paid me $2200.00 and I kept the car.

Yeah, this was my daily driver with all the suspension work and stuff done to it.

I've kept all the reciepts for all the parts on it, naturally... let's see... 3 floor pans, front end kit, disk brake conversion parts, LBP conversion parts, sway bar, V8 springs, Centerline wheels, 225 50 R16 Dunlops, late model master cylinder conversion, late model nippondenso alt conversion, custom rad core, digital dash.... Yup, they get to pay out the nose for this one. Pity I can't give 'em the reciepts for the long rod motor that's waiting to go in it.

8) You know, you do have that solid little barracuda in your driveway. That insurance money could go a long way towards body and interior work...

That Really Sucks,

The very real possibilty of that happening to my dart is always hanging over my restoration and body plans every day. Portland Oregon is a really big city too, and people up here don't have a @#$% Clue how to drive. I feel for you big time. I hope your recovery is quick.

Sorry to hear about your loss Brett. If you decide to part it out I'd be interested in a few items. I'm south of you in Graham and could use a passenger fender and headlight doors for my '66 wagoon.
