my car is pretty much done after working on for about 3 months. one of the only problems is that the collector from the header is only about 4 inches off the ground. how can i tighten the front suspension so that it doesnt slam on the ground???+ |

Bigger torsion bars would make the front tighter and less "springy". I went from .830 (inch diameter, stock) to 870s (off a V8 car), and that tightened us up nicely. Some folks like 890s or 920s or more, but that can lead to a pretty harsh ride. Steve |

You can simply use the adjusting bolts to raise the front end off the ground a bit higher, although you don't want the car to be leaning back too much or you'll have some aerodynamic issues. However, I have the 0.870" torsion bars and the car doesn't bottom out even at a slightly lower than stock ride height. These bars are still good for a comfortable ride on the street, too. |

Also, you might want to check your lower bumpstops and make sure they're in place. When I rebuilt my suspension last spring, they were completely gone... VM |
