if my car has 10 inch drums, is it possible i could buy all the parts neeed for a disc brake swap from a parts store like car quest? what would i need? spindles, calipers, bearings, rotors, mounting hardware for the calipers after pricing what most people want for the setup ive almost given up on my dicc brake swap until i win the lottery or graduate and have a good job cuz my money needs to go elsewhere on my car first. Is it possible this might be about the same price but with new parts?

You need to get spindles from a disk brake car. Everything else is typically available at parts stores. At least I think that's the way it goes.

I got factory disk brakes, even if it is a dumb body style.

Hmmmmm. Ten inch drums on a '73. Is it an original slant car? Does it have the 5-on-4" lug pattern, or the 5-on-4.5" pattern?

I think you'd have to get the spindles and caliper brackets from an a-body disc car, but the calipers, rotors, and attaching hardware could be purchased new/rebuilt.

Before I upgraded my supsension my car had 10 inch front drums as original equpment as well(5X4 bolt pattern), 9 inch rear drums. It's a 73 Dart, original slant car. I always thought 73 was a year when brake system got kind of murky(seems like they were running many differents sizes).

The '73 drum knuckles are valuable, don't throw them away when you do the change over to disc knuckles. I use those drum knuckles for my Viper on 11.75 swap. Most people don't know this but the disc brake rotor slides right on to the drum brake knuckle.

Here is a picture of the Viper calipers hung on some '73 drum brake knuckles. Just slide a 11.75 B body rotor on there and you're ready to go.

Calipers come from a Dodge Viper, 1992 to 2002. I make those adapters.

Do the stock 14" wheels still fit over those calipers?

Is there a caliper we can adapt to the drum brake spindles and still use 14" wheels?

I'd be more interested in a setup that had 14 inch rotors.
