Please help me determine exactly what the torque specks are for my '83 Ram 150 slant 6 intake-exhaust manifold.

My Haynes book says 21 foot pounds but it says right on the intake "10 foot pounds"

The article on the sight helped tremendously, but I want to be sure.

10 ft lbs is for the manifolds to the head, 21 ft lbs is for the 3 bolts attaching the intake/exhaust together. Hope that helps

Must be a misprint.

Do not overtorqe the manifold to head nuts. The exhaust manifold must slide at is expands and contracts with heat and cold. If it can not move, the exhaust manifold will crack from the stress.
The exhaust manifold grows 1/8" (1/16" per end) or more when it gets hot and there must be clearance for it to expand. Check that there is adequat clearance around both of the end studs in the round hole and position the triangle washers so they have 1/16" minimum clearance on the side to the exhaust manifold.
