I have clifford split headers with a (looks like) cliffored Y-pipe going down to a single 2.5" pipe. That goes to a 2.25" in and out cherrybomb turbo muffler and 2.25" pipe out the back. The Headers and Y-pipe I bought used at Carlisle last year for $75, the muffler was $20 at pep boys, and the pipes were made at Monroe muffler brake for $90= $185. one option.

Or use "Dutra Duals"...
These are cast iron dual exhaust manifolds, they are "Better then Headers". :)

If you are after torque the single pipe is a good bet. I use headers , 2 1/4" primary pipes , Summit "Y" and 3" single sewer pipe on my "fleet" 5.7l s . My slant plans are similar but would utilize smaller pipe sizes. Given the displacement a slant would likely make most torque with 1/34 primaries and a 2 1/2 single. Primary length varies peak torque RPM.

In my experience the primary pipe diameter and length are far more important than tail pipe size/length for torque production and band width.

Chev 250s used to have a dual setup option (1980~) The pipe sizes were 1 1/2 primary 28 1/2" long leading to a 2 1/4 intermediate and a 2" tailpipe. a good model for a stock super 6.

A single pipe eliminates the "drone" often associated with duals and headers.

Any good muffler shop should be able to understand and fabricate this. Shop around.
