Just wanted to update everyone on a muffler shop I found. It's called Minute Muffler, and it's at 6818 Foothill, near Hegenberger. It's run by two brothers who used to be circle track racers. They did an awesome job on my Clifford 6>2 - I had them do a 6>2 down to dual flowmasters, with a crossover. I'm running 2 inch to a 2.5 inch (or 2.25) flowmasters, then back to 2 inch out the back. The sound is brutal. It's rumbly at idle, and raspy and metallic when you step on it a little. I think it's very mean sounding. The job was extra hard because they had to clear the cable that goes to my automatic, and they had to clear the tranny fluid lines that go to the radiator. Anyway, it was a nice surprise to find them. k |

Hey, thanks for the recommendation K! I'm in Alameda, and I'm going to need to get the exhaust done as soon as I get ahold of the Dutra manifold. I'll check out Minute Muffler and tell 'em you sent me. Also, if you know of a good local machine shop (or any other good local stuff), please let me know. I'm new to the East Bay and used to doing my own machine work at community colleges. I talked to East Bay Engine in Oakland, they can rebuild my cyl head but can't cut the valve spring seats down (I'm running a high-lift cam and using springs with taller installed height). They recommend Vic Hubbard, but that sounds expensive. Cheers Steve 1966 Dodge Dart GT |
