An alternative if you cannot obtain a rod linkage is a kickdown cable from Lokar, part number KD-2727HT. (Scroll down to the bottom of teh above link for picture). I have been using this cable on the slant/904 in my '87 D150 for over 3 years with no problems. ![]() -S/6 |

Check your favorite U-Pull yard for a '77-'79 Aspen/Volare/Diplomat/Lebaron equipped with a Slant. Look especially for the Aspen and Volare wagons as the two barrel slant six was standard equipment in these models. Rob everything from the KD rod, to the throttle cable bracket, to the accelerator cable, and you should be set. They will work fine with 727s as well as the 904. |

Post subject: | Linkage availabiltiy |
Hey, I dont know if you are going the (Very good!) Lokar route, but if money is really an object, I can check if anybody locally has any new meat for linkages since last I looked. I can practically hit wildcat mopars with a brick from where I live, and I'm always combing the various yards for parts (since we sell stuff on the WWW all the time). You can reply here or send me a PM/Email if your interested. |

Is this correct or is the correct part number for the A904 a KD-2904HT?

At the time I made the original post, Lokar did not make a 904 specific kickdown cable. Since then, a 904 specific kit has become available, so I believe you have the correct 904 specific kit listed. As far as I know, the only difference between the 727 and 904 kits is the length of the cable they include, but I am not sure. There may be some different bracketry included with the 904 kit as well. When I installed, mine, I cut the cable to length, and made my own brackets (and modified some of what was provided in the 727 kit) from scrap metal I had around the garage.-S/6 |

The part # for a A904 is KD-29004HI from summit racing I have one that I am trying to install on my 73 slant with no luck I have a carter/weber carburetor that the throttle linkage moves to wards the drivers fender. The problem is I am running the kick down on the divers side up by the steering shaft there is no where to hook up the kick down cable to the carb. I don't understand how the cable can connect to push the kick down lever back on the 904 tranny? Thanks for any help I really appreciate it. Jim |
