I need a carter BBS carburetor for a 225. I have had no luck trying to find one in my area in any of the junkyards. Does anybody have an old one they would like to get rid off. I want one that has NOT been remanufactured. Does a BBS have the same throttle shaft wear problems that the BBD has? IF I can't find one I will settle for a Holley 1920. |

Need a lot more info. What year and application do you need a BBS for? |

Thanks Dan, but I found one soon after I posted. I needed it to go on my Duster. Did the BBS have the same throttle shaft wear problems that the BBD had? |

How do you rebush them, can you do it at home, and is it expensive. |

Naw, it's definitely not a do-at-home deal. You can find contractors who rebush throttle shafts in Hemmings. The Old Carb Doctor (800-945-CARB) does it. I have in the past used the services of G&S Machine, 303-795-1412. Don't know if they still offer it, but they used to offer 2-day turnaround and did a REALLY good job. Used postal or UPS shipping. Cost was between $30 and $50 -- and WELL worth it. Call around to local machine shops and see if you can find one who'll do it. |
