Like, wow, man. I'm seein' colors.

Never seen a Hyper Pak with a stock exhaust manifold; I bet DD's right that there's more to be found in that car.

Doug, does it bother you any to see Clifford's name on your work?

That's what I saw, stock Slants really like it when you open-up the exhaust, I'm surprised that this SL6 with a 150 HP shot is doing thru that tiny exhaust system. My bet is that ETs would drop a full second with a good set of open headers.

No, I could not keep-up with the Hyper-Pak manifold production process, that is a hard manifold to cast and machine. The "final call" was when the local foundry I was using to make these suddenly went "bankrupt" / out of business, I was lucky to get my patterns out of there before they locked the doors.
I am glad Clifford has continued to produce these special manifolds but I am sad when I see some of the poor workmanship on some of their units, I made some really nice manifolds off that casting equipment when it was first made-up.

That is lucky that you got the patterns out of the dead foundry; I have an idea how hard you worked on 'em (and I know about how long it took!)

The sloppy craftsmanship is what I meant. That kind of thing really bugs me. It's not all that much harder to just do it right, but that is apparently not Clifford's philosophy (across their whole line, sadly). Reminds me of Chrysler in the late '70s. If you got a good one, you were all set. If you got a bad one...well!

I had an interesting conversation with a headlamp customer in Michigan the other day. Heavily involved with Chrysler and has been for decades. The topic of certain other intricate aluminum castings came up. Probably vaporware, but stay tuned.

Doug,
Thanks for the cool replies:)
It is defenitly wild to say the least but I was having a trip back in time of the old days and went out next morning to the body shop were I work and put together a few colors for the dart.
I just took a brush made the bristles unequal lengths took one color at a time and slung the paint off the brush onto the car.
The paint is mixed to glow in the dark as well with a black light.
Just being different though, I really appreciate your dedication to the slant sixers and the people that drive them, your knowledge and dedication is greatly appreciated and yes the hyper-pak here was built from your Hot Rod build up of the slant six.
Keep up the great work and your Hyper-Pak Intake design was awesome if it wasn't for you their wouldn't be a hyper-pak in my dart.
Sincerly,
Jerry Engle

Hey Doug & Dan,
Just wanted to mention that I run a 6 -1 Mopar Performance Header.
Durning The Summertime And Through The Racing Season.
Durning The Winter Months I Put The Stock Setup Back On Due To The Extra Heat From The Exhaust Manifold Being Blocked Off.

Okay, I have to ask about the radiator overflow 'bottle' (literally?).

I cannot begin to imagine seeing that paint job on the street, especially at night! I take it you don't have to haul any friends around with you since it only has the driver's seat installed!

Normally a setup like this isn't my cup of tea, but I have to admit, I love that green paint. The car has enough Mopar edginess to bring it over from ridiculous to cool. In case I'm not being clear, I like it! :)

I can imagine pulling up next to a bodykitted ricer in that thing and laying down a 13-second pass. That is saweet. Lay off the LSD while driving it, though. I can only imagine what kind of trip that would bring on.

I have to quote this comment because it so clearly illustrates the class and humility of a gentleman that we are so fortunate to have in our community. Doug, you are my hero for life.

Thats a pretty cool setup ya got there, But i do admit, open up the exhaust a bit, and do some serious head work. I have to run my slant at Carlsbad one of these days and put the times up. Its pretty much a freeway flyer. How do the ladies like your paint? I have ghost flames by day and glow in the dark by night. I used Alsa Corp. The uhh....interior has got to drive you nuts at night though, dont ya get dizzy on the road?

heres another pic of the flames at night, not clear but it is FJ5
