How "good" a cam is depends on what you want to do with the engine you install it in. Go get groceries? Haul a trailer? win 1/4-mile drag races? win endurance races? Something else? |

In my younger days, I had a 71 Demon with a 360 and a huge cam, 3500 stall converter, holley 850, forged pistons, etc.. I forgot about the gearing (it was probably 2.73) The car was a dog. I ended up selling it cheap to some kid in frustration. What I've finally figured out is that everything has to work together as a package depending on what you want to do with the car (and how much you want to spend). |
