Post subject:  proper carb size

I have a 87 Ram 150 which I super sixed this past summer. The carb that I put on the truck is a Holly 2280 2 bl it is off a 318. Could someone tell me about this carb, such as cfm. and if this is a good carb or is there a better one it seems to have good preformance. when I had it rebuilt I was told that the rebuild kit obsolete although he was able to find one. So for this reason I was wondering if a different carb would be wise investment?

If you feel like making the invesment, there's the Weber DGEV 2 bbl. I did this on mine, great improvement in all aspects! This is a Throttle activatied 2bbl that opens the 2nd bbl with more hammer down. Yea. you will have to go to a cable to make it work, but it's a great improvement over a 1 bll. Do some searches here about the topic, I have found it to improve performance alot. Any questions? Don't be affraid to ask, someone here wil answer.
If you can't find a 2bbl manifold, they do make a conversin kit to adapt from a 1bbl carb manifold to a 2bbl. Hope his helps?
