What is the correct way to wire a starter relay for a 1982 Dodge 150? Why are there extra terminals on the starter relay?

How many terminals do you have? I don't have anything as late model as yours, but they all have 4 terminals and all are used.

Is this the relay you have?
If so...
Upper left dual prong to Battery and underhood light
Lower left single prong to ballast resistor
Middle dual prong to starter solenoid and EGR
upper right single prong is ground / neutral safety switch
Lower right single prong to Ignition
