| Post subject: | Oil pressure relief valve plunger - gone! or just stuck |
I hate to keep bothering everyone with this. I have the cap bolt out and the spring came out with it. But I cannot see, or feel, the plunger! Shouldh't it come out, too? Ideas or suggestions? Would a magnet, like one of those extension devices with the magnet on the end, be able to pull it out dave |

Sorry - false alarm. I was able to use the magnet to get it out. Seems to have a little bit of a burr on the end that the spring fits into, so I'll smooth that out and put it back. Looks a little galled on one side. I'll probably just end up replacing the pump. dave PS: There was quite a bit of small metal shavings that the magnet pulled out from inside the plunger. Is this normal? |

Nope, shavings and burrs aren't normal. Sounds like you just found the problem. I'm with you; I'd go ahead and swap on a new pump. |
