Greetings all, I just hauled home a 66 Dodge van with a slant and what seems to be a 4sp on the column. Is this correct? and if so is this the same tranny that would have been behind an 8?. The van is not running at the moment so I can't tell how many gears is has..the shifter is shiff and not working smoothly..I thought I found 4 grears and reverse. Any info? |

As the saying goes "Three on the Tree", "Four on the Floor". Column shift is an "H" configuration 3-speed. There were Slant Six 4-speed cars, but they too had the shifter on the floor. |

Ya I figured as much..never had one of these vans so you never know. I had a Mercedes with a four speed column shift. It took a while to get used to. I think a 360 will go into the van. Don't know if the bell housing is of any value, I think I want to keep my Valiant an auto.  C-Dog |
