Hello All,

Never realized this great site was here until today. Anyways I have a four-door '63 Dart that is a total sleeper. My best run so far (at apx. 1500 ft. altitude) has been a 15.74 @ 86 MPH in the 1/4 mile. Considering my pathetic 2.76 gears and stock torque converter (I shift to 3rd at the traps), I'm pretty happy with it. The Flowmasters make this car sound like a Honda with a fart can - so needless to say I have tons of fun with the Riceboys in this car. Can't seem to get any of them to race me at the track though....:(. I look forward to chatting with all the great people on this forum as I have time!

Combo: '63 225 block and head. Bottom end rebuilt all stock - but completely balanced. Stock rebuilt head shaved .090. Comp 264S camshaft, with matching springs and lifters. Modified Offy 4bbl intake with 390 4bbl. carburetor. Clifford shorty street rod headers - true dual exhausts to rear bumper (2 1/4" with two chamber Flowmasters). Mopar electronic ignition. Stock 904 pushbutton with Transgo shift kit.

Hello slantsixduster,

Sorry it has taken me quite awhile to reply....been too busy. Your car is beautiful by the way.....very impressed!!!!!! I'm running plain 'ol 50 series two chamber Flowmasters. They are a 'lil on the loud side, especially since my Dart has no headliner and no carpet right now, and they make the car sound like a ricer car or a v-6. They don't have a low tone except at idle. I've had local ricers tell me the car sounds like a healty Mazda rotary engine. Needless to say, I love it. When I throw a rev at a ricer, they usually have a confused look on their faces....like that sound can't be coming from that car!

As far as my modifications to the intake, I had the original carburetor plate mounting holes filled in with TIG welding. Then I reoriented the plate so that the primaries and secondaries are inline with the engine for equal fuel distribution and redrilled and tapped the holes (the original setup puts the primaries towards the front and the secondaries to the rear of the engine, which made fuel distribution not too good). The plate that came with my Offy had offset holes to match the offset holes in the intake, and could only be mounted the one undesirable way. After I modified the intake, I was able to get my carb dialed in much easier, and no more fouled plugs! The car seems to pull harder as well!
