Post subject: | Pre 66 904 Deep Tramasmission Pan |
I was wondering if the Mopar Performance deep transmission pan for the 904 would work for the pre 66 pushbutton transmission? Everything I have seen indicates that it is for the 66 and up. I think there might be an issue with the spacer provided with the kit. If there is an early kit, does anyone have the part number for it? Or can the later kit be modified? Thanks, John |

The '65-down filter has two inlet holes to feed the two fluid intakes which lead to the two pumps. Using a '66-up filter on a '65-down trans will starve the rear pump and cause damage. The pickup extensions have only one port, hence '66-up only. Strikes me I saw a deep-pan-and-pickup set for pre-'66 Torqueflites, but I'm having trouble remembering where. |

Try contacting this E-bay vendor, http://stores.ebay.com/TFlite-Pattys-Shop-Mart. If you can't find the parts you need, there are two other ways to go. 1) Get the later kit and modify the filter spacer. Silver solder or braze another tube between the plates, and drill the matching holes. 2) Convert to a manual valve body, and remove the governor and rear pump. They are not used or wanted, with the manual valve body. That is how I have my trans. |

Charrlie, that's a dead link. Correct link for Tflite Patty is http://stores.ebay.com/id=47055385. It might've been her store where I saw the dual-pump filter extension. I've e-mailed and will report. |

Well, that didn't take long. Just got this e-mail: <blockquote>From: Pat Blais aka T'Flite Patty <tflitepatty@verizon.net> I have the 2-port filter extensions available separately, or the complete stamped-steel deep-pan packages for either the 727 or 904 Torqueflite. If you need the extension only, I'd need a measurement from the pan rail (where it mates to the Torqueflite case) to the bottom of the sump on the inside. We allow ⅛" to ΒΌ" clearance for adequate Dacron filter suction. If it's a standard dimension the cost is $33.00 with both O-rings and 3 screws; if a custom dimension under 1" thick, cost is $39.00. We can also manufacture thicker extensions if necessary. The 2-hole filters are an item we stock also if you have difficulty locating them. Thanks; let me know if I can be of further assistance with parts or information. Thanks Dan, I couldn't find the private e-mail for them, so I just pulled that link off E-Bay, just before I posted. Didn't bother to check it. |
