Post subject:  North east racers
I am looking for all slanters that are interested in the 19th Annual Mopar Atlantic Nationals. The East Coast’s Largest All Mopar Drag Race, Swap Meet and Auto Show at Englishtown NJ. It will be held on the weekend of 13,14,15 may.
If we can get enough racers interested I will personally call and attempt to get a special /6 class. we have almost 2 months to talk them into it. I can not put up any prize money but we could possibly help out our sport and have some fun together defending the "lowly" slant 6.

13, Fri Street Night – Muffled Time Trials + Mopar VS. The World. Open 5PM. Street muffled vehicles only.
Saturday is the actual MOPAR dragracing. there will be no eliminations Friday. Usually(well the last 2 years) gates open at 9:00-10:30 is time trials with eliminations starting at 11:00
It also looks like street muffled vehicles only saturday.

It's about a 6 1/2 hour drive, but I'm game even if it's just me and Phil in the slant six class.

Post subject:  Hagerstown, Md. ??
Another option that we maybe could look into is in Hagerstown, Md. at Mason-Dixon Dragway. This is just south of Central Pa. This track hosts the Mid-Atlantic Mopar Meet every year, and they have a car show, test & tune (Sat) and all Mopar drag racing on Sunday. I was down the past 2 years as a spectator and did see a couple slant 6 cars there, but there was no specific class. I'm not too far from there and if there is any interest in a race there I could try to check it out? I'm sure Englishtown is a bigger deal, and they are at about the same time too. I'll do some checking and post back.

If you haven't met Dartvader yet, you should PM him and try to get him to go. He lives right there, and has the killer 5spd/EFI/turbo Dart.

It looks like I may be able to swap saturday with someone at work. I may be able to race afterall! We just recieved out federal tax refund today, the wife and I decided we can each spend $1000 on ourselves. That means the new engine WILL be in by then and if I can score a 4 barrel intake(who has one they want to get rid of?) in time that too will be add to the festivities.

Glad to hear finances are more favorable. God doesn't forget about us. :wink:

I really want to make some slant six races this year, so I need to make some hard choices about when and where to travel. :( My wife will be helping with the decisions :P so all bets are off. She's more worried about getting some paint on it than I am.

My car is back in action, and I am now driving Daily :shock: It needs a lot of attention before I can feel comfortable driving 7 hours from home, but it sure is a blast when I put my foot into some of these back roads.

Wow, it feels like she's gonna be FAST! :D
