Are both of these heads the same? I have on e that I started porting out for a 225 and now plans have changed and I am going with a 170. Will I be able to use this head on a 170 without any problems??

Any slant six head will fit any block. The heads are the same within the same year. There are some slight differences between years, but they interchange.
