Hey all, I'm here in the SF Bay Area and my girlfriend just surrendered her 66 Barracuda to me. She bought a Bug, Easier and cheaper for her to work on. She had the 3 speed pulled and overhauled. What i need now is to get the linkage back together correctly. I want to remove as much of the "slop" as possible out of the column shifting. (until i get it converted to floor shift.) I either need advice or a referral to a Mopar competent trans shop. Thanks, Steve |

What transmission is it? I have the "five feet deep" factory Plymouth service manual, I could get you all the info you need. |

There is not much to those. Shim the linkage connection points so everything is tight and look for the adjuster at the base of the column. There are 3/8 hex head bolts in slanted slots. Loosen the bolts and rotate the adjustment sleeve to tighten up the column bushing. DD |

Ya know I did find those but it appears that it's already been done. (the bushing is rotated as far as it can go). Is this a rebuildable area of the column? if so does anyone make a "kit"? I am ordering the grommets and bushings for the rod to trans brackets today. I'm hoping ot be able to bring her up to the Slant Six meet Sunday. Steve |
