Post subject:  1977 Volare' donor car

I have a 69 valiant100 with the sbp 9'' in the front. There is a fairly unstripped 77 volare with disc brakes at the wreking yard. Would the UCA and spindles swap right in? Or do i have to find ONLY a 73-6 a-body with discs

Spindles and brake parts will work, UCAs will not. You can get UCAs from ANY 73-up Abody (drum or disc).

The volare' isn't a a-body? I'm confused as to what the body types are.

No, Aspens and Volares are considerd F bodies. I've seen a more thorough chart somewhere but this is the one I've just found: http://www.moparts.org/moparts/tech/pages/bodycode.html

"A-body" was Valiant, '63-up Dart and derivatives, '64-'69 Barracuda, and all Dusters. Not sure if the '60 -'62 Lancers and Valiants are referred to as "A-bodies", anyone?

Aspen and Volare are "F-bodies", similar in size and layout to previous "A-bodies", but not the same.

EDIT: Sorry about the echo, Pierre and I must've been replying at about the same time

the lower control arms are different on the Volare.
the Aspen/Volare models are F bodys and use a transverse torsion bar front suspension system as opposed to the A bodys, which use a longitudinal torsion bar setup. two entirely different animals here.

the 60-62 valiants and lancers are widely considered as A bodies, even though Chrysler didn't officially designate A, B, & C bodies until 1965.
