First I must say this site is beyond fantastic! I have recieved more info in 1 hr than in days of looking anywhere else. I'm thinking of changing a bbd carb I'm going to install to manual choke. Any comments or problems forseen? |

Welcome! I too am running a manual choke. It works great. I cant just start and drive like an automatic choke but mine warms up to driving temp in around 2 minutes |

Thanks. I'm debating the simplest super 6 conversion for my 85 d100. Amanual choke should give one less thing to worry about when changing the intake and carb. By the way beautiful '70 Valient |

I've been starting and driving right off in my manual choke equipped Duster for years, BBD and then later AFB, all weather, no problems (of course in cold weather, it's always best to let your equipment warm up a little before pulling off, manual choke, auto choke or EFI - But if I'm running late to work, I just gotta go!) I have to manipulate the cable a little bit as I drive, but that's no big deal - pull it out a little in the first few mins when coming to an idle, then pushing it in slightly as I pull off if it starts to "load up" a little. You know, pulling levers, throwing switches, twisting nobs kinda makes driving fun. Stick shift, power nothing, just a basic engine pulling a truck. I'm even getting rid of the ingition key and going to a start button and on/off switch. I have a well hidden but easy to access battery cut off for security. Simple fix it with a screw driver and a hammer techology. But with power to go. Thats what I am working toward |

I dont like moving untill i can just stomp in it and go. I'm not much of a finess kind of guy Yea I have some of the few pictures ever taken of snow on the ground in Georgia |

It snows in north GA down to Atlanta more than you might think. Nothing like PA, of course... snow is pretty rare here in central GA anymore, what with all the global warming and greenhouse gasses caused by all those oil-burning shivvies in the world ...used to snow here (stick) two or three times per winter. I was in Hinesville, northeastern part of the state at the time. that 1/2" of snow shutdown Ft. Stewart for an entire day. |

Uhhhhhhh..... 70valiant', last time I checked, Hinesville and Ft. Stewart was on the SE coast of GA...... maybe it snowed after they moved it north for your visit!  D/W P. S. - You're right about the locals nutting up over 3 snowflakes, but in fairness, when there is a heat/humidity wave of 95+ for three days in some of our northern US climes, it's a crisis, people fall out like flies and it's declared a federal emergency! We've gotta slough thru that junk here for the better part of five months outta the year  It's all what you're used to.
