My '74 Dart has developed a very annoying squeak. :x It does it going over bumps and when turning. I thought it was the either the A-arm bushings or the strut-rod bushings; until i noticed that it does it does even when the car is sitting completely still, and I turn the wheel. I have greased everything and it still does it. It is really starting to get on my nerves and I can't figure out where its coming from!

I would check your lower balljoints.

I thought that too but I greased them and it didn't help. I have noticed that if I drive through a puddle it will stop for a few days or so, but it always comes back. It is only on the driver's side.

Check the battery tray. My '65 squeaks on the drivers side and it is the battery tray.

Could be a shock also.

Why not have a friend jounce the suspension while you poke your head around and listen? You should find the source within short order. A mechanic's stethoscope or even a screwdriver with its handle in your ear should help you narrow it down further.

My 1976 Valiant has the same annoying squeak too. I think its the aftermarkt strut rod rubber bushings I put in it. When going up and down over bumps/uneven surface or just sitting still and turning the steering wheel the lower control arm goes up and down and the strut rod is pivoting in the rubber bushing it causes squeek. I think this is the rubber strut rod bushing sliding on the metal. I will investigate in spring when car comes out of storage.

Check those big bolts that attach the K-Frame to the frame rails, I have see those work loose and cause noise.

Do the two person "bonce test" and is you can't pin-point the noise "by ear", grab a can of WD-40 and start spraying everything that moves. You will know it when you spray the problem spot.
