| Post subject: | Source of steel shim head gasket |
I have the block and head at the machine shop, and am preparing for assembly. I find my FLAPS has only the (felpro) composition style head gasket, I find in searching this site, that the .030 I am having shaved off the head will be taken up by the composition gasket. Is there a source for the stock style steel shim gasket? I have looked locally, and on e-bay with no luck. Not too late to up the amount taken off the head if need be. Any thoughts ? Other options ? Thanks. |

There are some of those gaskets still around. I have a few on the shelf, but prefer not to sell any at this time. If it were me, since you are haveing the head milled, anyway, I would just take off an additional amount and use the composition gasket. |
