I replaced all the bulbs in the gauge cluster of my 1978 Dodge D100 Custom pickup. And everytime I turn on the lights they do not light up so I can't drive at night. And also, some of the gauges snapped and broke. I may have to find a different gauge cluster. Who sells them for that year of Dodge? tjfarrand@hotmail.com |

Usually it's the light switch that causes dash light problems. The gauges are often listed on e-bay. I recently bought a complete NOS set for a little over $100. |

The problem is probably your headlamp switch, which contains the rheostat to control the dashboard illumination. Do you get any light (even a flicker) at all if you turn on the parking lamps and rotate the headlamp knob full left to full right? If not, go ahead and replace the headlight switch. Instrument cluster parts: Wrecking yard. If you can't find one locally, use www.car-part.com, searchable used auto parts nationwide. |
