Post subject:  Best resource book to performance build my 68 Cuda Notch

My dilema........I recently aquired a 1968 Barracuda (Notch Back). I was unable to afford a V8 in driveable condition, so I picked up a 68 with a slant 6. I have always liked to keep my cars unmolested but the thought of driving around in a "muscle car" with an under powered 6 banger and no "growl" may push me over the engine swap cliff. I have read some things (performance wise) on the slant 6. What is the best resource for this (engine modifications, driveline, transmission etc.) Cost wise does it pay to do a slant six.... or just find a V8 (I apologize on the last part, I guess its not appropriate to ask if I should just find a V8 on the slant six question board. Anyway any information would be appreciated. Has anybody done a slant 6 performance Cuda?

Dave

many, hot rod, slant six Cudas. There is much info on this site. Take a look in the articles section. There is a reprint of the "Hot Rod Magazine" article "Slantsickness", plus much more. Ask questions here, also.

The only way to answer this question is to define your own principles and decide how faithful you are to them.

seeing as how youre already considering changing the exhaust I dont see the unmolested thing being an issue with your conscience. What do you want, a car that's unique, or a car with a V8.
