Can someone give me the part number for a heater control valve (the in-line vacuum operated valve on the 1/2" heater hose). I bought one at AutoZone, but it's not even close to the same style as the original on Aaron's Dart Sport. His mounts to the inner fender with two screws, near the vacuum diverter canister. I hope these are still available from the dealer. Thanks, Jerry |

If you are looking for one that looks like this I'll make you a good deal. It works, I applied suction to the vacuum port and it moves freely. It came out of a 74 Valiant I parted last spring. |

Let me pursue the new one, and if I have no luck, I'll get back to you. Thanks, Jerry |

The heater valve for my 76 Valiant with AC was no longer available 15 years ago. Do you relly think you are going to find one for your car? OK, here's what I did. I looked through the picture book at NAPA or where ever until I found one with the correct hose connections and a mount bracket that I could make work. I had to bend the bracket around so it mounted in the same location and similar fashion as the original did. Functions fine, just looks a bit different. Good luck. I suppose one of those NOS Mopar parts dealers may have one available but they always want an arm and a leg and lots of cash to boot. I call those kinds of places crooks. They should be happy to sell the parts for cheap while there are still some cars and people who can use them. Pretty soon our old cars will be gone and those NOS guys will be sitting on a mountain of useless parts. |

So true about the NOS parts. One parts dealer has 22 small, plastic trim rings for Cordoba steering wheels. There will be virtually no demand for them, but that doesn't prevent him from wanting $75 each. If he had one or two, I might understand, but he won't even sell one at that price, while he might sell most of them if he was asking $20 each. |
