I just got my oil gauge rigged and I don't know what numbers are dangerous. I specifically need to know the average and lowest tolerable pressures at full warm on a low idle. Thanks in adavance |

IMO, lowest tolerable at hot idle: 5 psi General rule of thumb, you want 10 psi oil pressure for every 1000 rpm; 10 psi for 1000 rpm, 20 psi for 2000 rpm, etc. My slant runs about 35 psi oil pressure at hot idle, 52 psi everywhere off-idle--that is on a fresh rebuild with approx 1500 miles though. -S/6 |

Mine is 50psi at idle, cold. Goes down to 25psi warmed up. Is 50psi at all driving speeds warmed up. |
